LML Border Collies Registered American Border Collies ABCA

Welcome to LML Border Collies, we raise American Border Collies, which are registered with American Border Collie Association (ABCA). We are not a kennel! We have working bloodlines and we only breed our dogs once yearly, unless there is unintentional breeding.  Our pups are great herders, agility, and great family pets.  Pups are handled from the day they are born and raised inside my home.  As they grow up I monitor their personalities to determine if they are best suited as a great family pet, a good herder or good in agility trial so you know what kind of Border Collie you will be getting.  I encourage potential buyers to come and see the quality pup we have before making a purchase.  Please see below for more information on each of our Border Collies which should answer some of you questions about our dogs. General Info

For those new to the Border Collie I recommend that you do research on the breed. There is a link below to the American Border Collie Association.  Border Collies are highly intelligent and high energy dogs.  They require an owner who is firm and can spend the time with them.  If you do not have the time to spend with them they can be destructive and very disobedient.

As for their herding instinct they are born with it.  With proper training that can be enhanced to make excellent world champion herders.  One pup out of Jasmine's litter that was 4 months old was backing cattle down with only obedience training. He was following his instincts and I encourage that in all of my pups.

Agility is natural to the breed. Curiosity and a pleasing nature highlight the animal's ability to learn and follow directions.  More curiosity leads to more ability at herding as the animal is more inclined to want to make things happen but does make it a little harder to train them.  A more pleasing nature leads to a better agility or trails competitor since they will more readily do what they are asked.  Mix the two together and you get a great all around Border Collie.

Skeeter

Our Male

Skeeter is a chocolate and white border collie with gold eyes.  He is on the large size of the breed, but well built muscular frame with a broad chest and medium rear end.  He is an all around dog who herds’ horses, is pretty agile for his size and is a very loving boy.  He can get height from the ground for a Frisbee or ball. He has lots of eye, locks on very easily.  He is very easy to turn on but sometimes, depending on the task, he can be difficult to turn off but obeys all commands.  He is of sound health and mind and wants lots of attention. As with most Border Collies, if he is not properly exercised he can drive you crazy trying to get you to play or go out and work.
Jasmine

HB Blu Heather (Jasmine) is a blue and white with brown eyes.  She is on the small size and built for speed. Jasmine is very quick and agile; her strength lies in the agility arena but still herds all animals and has a lot eye.  She can be in a full blown run and pivot in a 90 degree turn on a dime and not lose any balance or speed (she can outrun Skeeter).  She locks on very easily and is hard to distract once she is locked on.  She also turns off just as easily and is very easy to teach.  She is of sound health and mind.  She is also very loving and eager to please you.

 2T Shiloh

2T Shiloh is a red merle with ice blue eyes. She is on the medium size and well built. She came to us as a rescue dog from a abusive home. We happen to know the breeder and was able to obtain papers on her.  However, her herding instincts were trained out of her and we haven't got them back.  She likes to play in the yard but doesn't have any interest in herding. She just wants to lay at your feet and be loved on.  She likes to go to the Veteran’s home and seeks out the most ill person and will stay with them, she is a healer.  Her laid back disposition is a miracle; most in the environment that she came from would have made them very mean. I maintain contact with her original breeder and know that her litter mates have turned out to be great herders.  She is of sound health and mind and desires to be with you all of the time.
